Doughfender Game
Who can resist Krispy Kreme doughnuts? Open up a box of them and it won’t be long until they’re all grabbed and gone! We decided to bring this idea to life by creating the joyful Kinect arcade game; Doughfender.
Disciplines: Game design, UX, UI, Illustration

Krispy Kreme was launching their new store in Central Station Sydney and wanted to create an interactive in-store experience for their customers.
Doughfender gave customers the chance to play and win prizes such as free doughnuts.

User Experience & Prototyping
From the creative concept, I developed the complete user experience of the game. One of the main challenges was familiarizing people with using hand gestures to interact with the Kinect and required multiple iterations in the design.
Rapid prototypes allowed us to conduct daily user testing, adjusting navigational elements as needed and simplifying the overall onboarding experience.

Design & Illustration
Once the user experience was established, I moved into designing all the interactive elements following Krispy Kreme’s branding, as well as developing and illustrating the playful ‘baddies’ character arms.
